BTCCSquare news:

Ghana has officially legalized cryptocurrency trading, marking a significant shift in the country's financial regulatory landscape. The new law establishes a clear legal framework for digital assets, bringing exchanges and service providers under formal oversight for the first time.

The MOVE aims to regulate an already active market, with Bank of Ghana Governor emphasizing the need for "clear, accountable, and well-governed boundaries." For users, this eliminates long-standing legal ambiguities—virtual asset trading is now unequivocally legal.

Rapid crypto adoption in Ghana, with transaction volumes reaching substantial levels, forced regulators to act. Concerns over consumer protection, fraud, and the cedi's stability drove the decision. Officials stress this is not a crackdown but a bid to foster responsible innovation.
